Disney Magic is Disney Cruise Line’s first ship and the lead vessel of its Magic class. Built by Fincantieri and delivered in 1998, it combines an ocean-liner-inspired design with Disney family entertainment, rotational dining, youth clubs and dedicated adult spaces. The ship carries approximately 2,700 guests with about 950 crew members and offers a more intimate layout than Disney’s newer, larger vessels.
Signature features include the AquaDunk water slide, AquaLab splash area, three pools, fireworks at sea on most eligible sailings, and a three-deck atrium lobby. A 2023 dry dock added Encanto and Soul-themed experiences, refreshed concierge spaces and shore-power capability.
Rotational dining is centered on Animator’s Palate, Lumiere’s and Rapunzel’s Royal Table, supplemented by Cabanas, Pinocchio’s Pizzeria, Palo and other casual options.
Entertainment includes Broadway-style productions such as Tangled: The Musical, Twice Charmed and Disney Dreams, along with character encounters, deck parties, first-run films and live music at Soul Cat Lounge.
The ship offers inside, oceanview, verandah, concierge and family staterooms, including two signature royal suites. Many rooms include Disney’s split-bathroom layout and convertible sleeping arrangements.
Family amenities include Oceaneer Club spaces themed around Marvel Super Hero Academy and Andy’s Room, Edge and Vibe youth clubs, character activities, themed deck parties, movies and family pools.
Senses Spa & Salon, a fitness center, Quiet Cove Pool, Cove Cafe and adult-exclusive lounges provide relaxation and wellness options.
Accessible staterooms and public facilities are available, with Disney Cruise Line providing advance-planning and special-assistance resources for guests with disabilities.
A 2023 dry dock installed shore-power technology, allowing the ship to connect to compatible port electrical grids and reduce emissions while alongside.
