Small island port with tender boat access to the beach; no fixed pier infrastructure.
Dravuni is a small island in Fiji's Beqa Lagoon, accessible only by tender from anchored ships. It hosts a basic resort and serves mainly as a snorkeling and beach day stop for small luxury and expedition cruises. The island itself is tiny—most of it occupied by the resort—but the surrounding reef is the main attraction.
Ships anchor in 20–40 feet of water; tender rides take 10–15 minutes each way. There are no shops, limited dining options, and no ATMs on the island. This is a beach-and-snorkel port, not a cultural or urban destination. Plan for tender boarding delays and bring sunscreen, a hat, and snorkel gear.
The reef in front of the island is the main draw. Fish, corals, rays, and occasionally reef sharks in deeper sections. Water is clear and calm most days. Suitable for beginners with snorkel gear or experienced snorkelers.
⚡ Popular — books out early. Reserve before you sail.
The main beach is calm, sandy, and good for swimming and lounging. Water is warm year-round. Shade is limited; bring or rent an umbrella.
Walk the small perimeter of the island to see the lagoon, reef edge, and local vegetation. No guided tours typically available; self-guided exploration only. Quick and low-effort.

Dravuni is safe for tourists and cruise passengers. Petty theft is rare on the island itself. The main risk is sun exposure and reef hazards (sharp coral, sea urchins). Wear reef shoes or water booties when snorkeling. Dehydration is real; drink plenty of water before and after snorkeling. The island is operated largely by the resort, which discourages trouble. Avoid swimming outside designated areas and check reef conditions with staff before entering the water.
Limited accessibility. Tenders require good mobility to board and exit; waves can make this challenging. The beach is sandy and flat, but paths around the island are uneven dirt tracks. No wheelchair access to reef snorkeling or water activities. If mobility is a concern, plan beach lounging only and notify your cruise line in advance.
You disembark from the tender directly onto the beach. There's a small resort area with a bar, basic restaurant, and shade structures just above the sand. A few local staff and vendors may greet you, but there's no formal pier or terminal building. Snorkeling access is immediate; the reef starts 30–50 meters offshore. Expect sand on your shoes and sun—bring sunscreen.
White sand, calm lagoon water, excellent visibility. Shallow in most areas, deepening toward the reef. Good for families and beginners. The only developed beach on the island.
Food options are minimal. The resort operates a basic café and bar serving sandwiches, fruit, beverages, and light meals. Expect simple fare at moderate prices (lunch $10–18 USD). Quality and menu variety are limited. Best strategy: eat breakfast and dinner on the ship, pack snacks, and grab a light lunch or beverage on the island. Bring your own water bottle to refill.
There are no shops on Dravuni. A small vendor area may sell basic souvenirs (shells, jewelry, sarongs) but selection is minimal. Prices are higher than in Fiji towns due to isolation. If you want Fiji souvenirs, buy them in advance at a main port or on the ship.
Only way ashore. Ships anchor offshore; tenders run frequently during daylight. Queue and board times can add 15–30 minutes to your first and last shore outing.
The island is small enough to walk in 20 minutes corner to corner. No motorized transport needed for beach access.

You can snorkel on your own from the beach with your own or rented gear. Organized tours to other reefs may be available through the resort for an extra fee ($30–60 USD) but are optional. The house reef in front of the island is excellent and free to access.
Tender operations depend on sea state; rough waves can delay or cancel service. Your cruise line will announce cancellation by morning. If the tender doesn't run, you stay aboard. This is rare in the dry season but can happen November–April.
Leave valuables in your cabin safe. Carry only essentials: sunscreen, a waterproof phone case, and a small amount of cash. Theft from unattended beach items is uncommon but not impossible.
