If you have any interest in wine, this stop is genuinely worth your time. If you do not, the appeal narrows considerably.

For river cruise passengers, Grevenmacher is typically a half-day call. The town is walkable, safe, and relaxed — a genuine small European wine town rather than a tourist-manufactured experience. That said, it is quiet to the point of feeling sleepy on some days, so calibrate your expectations accordingly. A day trip to Luxembourg City is possible but requires planning and takes up most of your port time.
