Hiroshima's cruise port sits on the Ota River delta in the city's western industrial zone, roughly 2–3 km from the city center. Ships dock at Ujina Pier, a straightforward walk to tram terminals and taxi stands. Hiroshima is best known as the site of the 1945 atomic bombing and home to the Peace Memorial Museum and Park—a solemn, moving, and historically essential visit. The city is also home to Okonomiyaki (savory pancakes), good local food culture, and Hiroshima Castle. Most cruisers spend 4–6 hours ashore; the main draw is the Peace Memorial, not leisure or beach time.

Is It Safe?

Hiroshima is very safe by global standards. Petty theft is rare; violent crime affecting tourists is extremely uncommon. Police presence is visible and responsive. The neighborhoods around Peace Memorial Park are safe and well-lit. Standard urban awareness applies (avoid empty streets late at night), but this is not a concerning port for safety.
