About MS Nordnorge

MS Nordnorge is a compact Norwegian coastal ship designed for scenic, year-round voyages along Norway’s coastline. Renovated in 2016 and 2022, it combines an Arctic-inspired interior with broad observation areas, a panoramic lounge, expedition lectures and a relaxed onboard atmosphere. The ship carries up to 452 guests in 211 cabins, making it notably smaller and more intimate than a conventional large cruise ship. Its coastal-ship design also supports local transport and cargo alongside passenger travel.

Onboard Experience

Signature highlights

Scenic observation areas, two outdoor hot tubs, a panoramic lounge, Expedition Team lectures, coastal views and a relaxed Nordic atmosphere.

For families

The ship offers family-appropriate coastal travel, selected cabins accommodating up to four guests, and a playroom listed on published deck plans. It does not have the extensive waterparks or youth facilities found on large resort ships.

Pools, spa & wellness

Facilities include a sauna, fitness room and two outdoor hot tubs.

Accessibility

Hurtigruten states that key public areas have step-free access and that accessible cabins are available, although the number of accessible cabins is limited. Accessible toilets are located on Decks 4 and 7.

Environmental features

Nordnorge is not identified by Hurtigruten as one of its hybrid-powered ships. It operates within Hurtigruten’s broader coastal program, which emphasizes regional sourcing, shore-power connectivity where available and reduced reliance on heavy fuel oil.
