Silver Cloud is Silversea’s first crossover expedition ship, combining an intimate all-suite luxury experience with equipment and staffing for polar exploration. Originally delivered in 1994 and converted for expedition cruising during a 2017 refurbishment, the ship carries up to 254 guests and 212 crew. Its compact size supports access to smaller ports and remote landing sites, while spacious public areas, veranda suites, and a high crew-to-guest ratio provide a comfortable base for destination-focused voyages.
The ship carries 20 Zodiacs and 10 kayaks, supporting guided wildlife viewing, shore landings, and other expedition activities. It has an ice-class rating and operates as a crossover vessel between luxury cruising and expedition travel.
Four principal dining venues include The Restaurant, La Terrazza, La Dame, and The Grill, offering destination-led cuisine, Italian specialties, French fine dining, and poolside grilled dishes.
Onboard options include the Explorer Lounge for lectures and presentations, the Observation Lounge, Panorama Lounge, Dolce Vita with live piano, and the Connoisseur’s Corner.
All accommodations are suites, including Vista, Veranda, Deluxe Veranda, Medallion, Silver, Royal, Grand, and Owner’s Suite categories. Most suites include a veranda, while Vista Suites provide large picture windows.
The ship offers expedition programming, Zodiac excursions, kayaking, and educational presentations; it is oriented primarily toward adults and destination-focused travelers rather than family recreation.
Facilities include the Zagara Beauty Spa, beauty salon, fitness centre, pool deck, whirlpools, sauna, and jogging track.
Silver Cloud uses an advanced wastewater treatment system designed to meet IMO approval standards and MARPOL requirements, including stricter treatment provisions for special areas.
