About Wind Surf

Wind Surf is Windstar Cruises’ flagship five-masted sailing yacht and the largest vessel in its classic Wind Class. Built in 1989 as Club Med 1, she combines a yacht-like atmosphere with spacious public areas, 171 staterooms and suites, and capacity for 342 guests. The ship offers a particularly intimate cruising style, with open-deck sailing, a retractable watersports platform, multiple dining venues, a pool, whirlpools, spa and fitness facilities. Phase-one public-area renovations were completed in late 2024.

Onboard Experience

Signature highlights

Five-masted sailing yacht with seven self-furling sails, open-deck sailing experiences, a pool deck, whirlpools, lounges and a retractable watersports platform.

Dining

Dining venues include AmphorA, Stella Bistro, Veranda, Candles and Yacht Club Café, with both formal and casual choices and some outdoor dining.

Entertainment

Evening options include live entertainment, dancing, lectures, lounges, a casino and the open-deck sailing atmosphere. The ship emphasizes intimate yacht-style social spaces rather than large-scale production attractions.

Staterooms & suites

The ship has 171 staterooms and suites, including deluxe ocean-view staterooms, ocean-view suites and two Bridge Suites. Rooms generally include queen beds, private bathrooms, televisions, minibars, safes and Wi-Fi.

For families

The watersports platform offers weather-permitting access to kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling, windsurfing, water trampolines and water skis. The small-ship format is more suited to families seeking shared active excursions than extensive children’s programming.

Pools, spa & wellness

Facilities include the WindSpa, fitness center, Nautilus Room, swimming pool and two whirlpools.

Accessibility

Tauck lists no elevator, so travelers with mobility limitations should confirm deck access and stateroom suitability before booking.
