Emerald Astra is a 2026-built Emerald Cruises river ship carrying up to 180 guests on European river itineraries. The 135-metre vessel combines a contemporary yacht-inspired design with Emerald’s signature Star-Ship layout, including panoramic balcony suites, a pool that converts into an evening cinema, multiple dining venues and a spacious Sun Deck. It entered service in 2026 after its May 3 inaugural voyage and is designed for cruising the Danube, Rhine, Main and Moselle rivers.
The ship’s standout features include a retractable-roof pool and cinema, a redesigned Sun Deck with panoramic views, a walking track, games area, putting green and Sky Barbecue. Its interiors incorporate contemporary European design elements and expanded guest laundry facilities.
Reflections Restaurant provides open-seating dining, while The Terrace and the Sun Deck’s Sky Barbecue provide additional casual and alfresco options. The ship also offers a Horizon Bar & Lounge.
The daytime pool becomes an evening cinema beneath a retractable glass roof. Additional entertainment and recreation spaces include the Horizon Bar & Lounge, games area and putting green.
The 91 cabins include Owner’s One-Bedroom Suites, Grand Balcony Suites, Emerald Panorama Balcony Suites, Emerald Staterooms and single staterooms. Most accommodations feature Emerald’s indoor balcony-style panoramic windows or balcony suites.
The ship provides games and outdoor recreation areas, including a putting green and walking track, but it is primarily designed as an upscale adult-oriented river-cruise experience.
Wellness facilities include a fitness area, massage and beauty services, a hairdresser and the pool area, which is also used as an evening cinema.
