Le Champlain is a 184-guest expedition ship in PONANT’s intimate Explorers fleet. Built in 2018, the 131.5-meter vessel combines French-inspired hospitality with expedition capability, including a marina platform for water activities and the Blue Eye underwater observation lounge. All 92 staterooms and suites have private balconies or terraces, while the compact size supports access to smaller ports and culturally focused destinations. On board, guests will find refined dining, lounges, a theater, pool, spa, fitness room, and observation areas.

French-influenced dining is offered in an indoor-outdoor restaurant, with casual pool-deck options and room service. Meals are served in an intimate, unassigned-seating setting.
Theater programming includes lectures from guest experts and naturalists, live shows, concerts, professional performances, and films. Lounges, an observatory, library, and outdoor bar provide quieter alternatives.
The 92 staterooms and suites include balcony categories and larger suites with terraces. Representative accommodations range from approximately 204-square-foot balcony staterooms to 484-square-foot Grand and Owner’s suites.
The ship is designed primarily for adult-oriented expedition travel and offers limited family-capable accommodations, including cabins or suites accommodating up to four guests.
Facilities include a SOTHYS and Davines spa, hammam, fitness room, sauna, hairdressing services, treatments, massages, and an outdoor swimming pool.
The builder lists two fully ADA cabins. Guests should confirm current accessible-cabin availability and specific onboard requirements directly with PONANT.
Le Champlain incorporates energy-efficient and environmentally oriented systems developed for the PONANT Explorers design. PONANT states that the ship’s environmental performance has continued to be enhanced since construction.
