Viking Idun is a 190-guest European river ship in Viking’s Longship fleet, designed for intimate cruising on the Rhine, Main, Moselle and Danube. Its compact 135-meter layout combines panoramic public spaces with 95 outside staterooms, including veranda cabins, French-balcony rooms and suites. Passengers can use the Aquavit Terrace, lounge, restaurant, library and sun deck while enjoying Viking’s destination-focused, generally relaxed onboard atmosphere. The ship is Swiss-registered and remains in active Viking service.
The Longship design emphasizes open river views, understated Scandinavian styling and a forward Aquavit Terrace with indoor-outdoor seating. A sun deck provides 360-degree views, shaded seating, a walking track, putting green and herb garden.
The main restaurant offers panoramic river views, while the Aquavit Terrace provides an al fresco dining and viewing option at the bow.
Entertainment is centered on scenic cruising, the lounge and bar, the library, onboard programming and destination-focused activities rather than large-scale production shows.
The ship has 95 outside staterooms: standard rooms, French-balcony staterooms, veranda staterooms, veranda suites and Explorer Suites. Explorer Suites provide separate living and sleeping areas.
The sun deck includes a walking track and open-air space for relaxed sightseeing and light activity.
An elevator serves the Middle and Upper decks; Viking notes that categories E and F do not have elevator access.
Viking describes the Longships as using ecologically friendly hybrid engines to reduce vibration; the sun deck also includes solar panels and an herb garden.
