EXPLORA VI is a future luxury cruise ship for Explora Journeys and the sixth vessel in the brand’s planned fleet. Fincantieri began construction with a steel-cutting ceremony at its Sestri Ponente shipyard on March 9, 2026, with entry into service planned for 2028. The ship is designed with oceanfront suites, multiple restaurants and lounges, wellness facilities, pools, entertainment spaces and family areas. It will use LNG propulsion alongside fuel-cell technology and shore-power capability.
The ship is being built by Fincantieri and is scheduled to complete Explora Journeys’ six-ship fleet in 2028. Official deck plans show extensive suite accommodations, multiple pools, a casino, sports court, wellness facilities and dedicated youth spaces.
The official deck plans identify Fil Rouge, Med Yacht Club, Anthology, Marble & Co. Grill, Sakura, Emporium Marketplace, Chef’s Kitchen and The Chef’s Table, plus in-suite dining.
Planned entertainment and social spaces include Journeys Lounge, Explora Lounge, Astern Lounge, Galleria d’Arte, The Cellar, Malt Whisky Bar, Casino and Sky Bar on 14.
Official deck plans show ocean terrace suites, ocean grand terrace suites, penthouses and several residence categories, including owner’s residences.
The deck plans identify Nautilus Club Juniors and Nautilus Club Teens, indicating dedicated children’s and teen spaces.
Planned facilities include Ocean Wellness The Spa, an Ocean Wellness Fitness Centre, Open Air Fitness, a running track, sports court, pools and whirlpools.
The official deck plans identify accessible suites, lifts, connecting suites, and other accessibility-related accommodation features.
EXPLORA VI is planned with LNG propulsion, fuel-cell technology capable of converting LNG into hydrogen, shore-power connectivity and underwater-noise management systems. Explora Journeys and Fincantieri describe the ship as incorporating advanced environmental technologies for lower-emission port operations.
